About Dr. Daniel M. KWA, MD. LAC.
Doctor Daniel. M. Kwa is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New Jersey. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture.
Education
Doctor Kwa was educated and trained in the Western branch of Medicine and Graduated from Airlangga Medical School in Indonesia.
He arrived in the United States in 1970 and did his Medical internship at Martland Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
He then continued with a Pathology residency and a Fellowship in Hematopathology at Muhlenberg Hospital in PlainField New Jersey and at
Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Hematopathology and Cytopathology.
Acupuncture
Due to his interest in Acupuncture, he took the Acupuncture course of Doctor Joseph Helms, given under the auspices of the University of California, Los Angeles.
Since then he took several additional acupuncture courses for pain management and is currently an associate staff member at the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation.
He is associated with the Pain Management program at Bacharach.
Benefits and Limitations of Acupuncture
Due to his training in both Western Medicine and Acupuncture, he is keenly aware as to the benefits and limitations of Acupuncture. Faced with an ailment
that will benefit more from a Western approach, he will not hesitate to advice the patient accordingly.
If Acupuncture is beneficial, he will explain both the benefits and limitations of the Acupuncture treatments the patient is asking for.
